Charles Fridman began his career in the construction industry before transitioning into real estate. Having worked for 30 years in New York City property management, Charles Fridman began constructing pizzerias and eventually constructing 25 buildings. He currently employs a staff of 10 full-time employees. Charles Fridman immigrated to the United States from France as a young teenager. He joined the Sheetmetal Workers Union Local 22 shortly thereafter. While serving as an Apprentice Sheetmetal Worker, Charles Fridman took night classes at City College of New York and received his GED four years later. Energized by his work experience, Charles Fridman began building his own properties, starting with pizzerias, in the 1960s. Charles Fridman built and sold eight pizzerias and then changed to creating deli take-outs. When the economy collapsed, Charles Fridman transitioned into residential property management. He purchased his first building in 1978, signing a ten-year lease on a single room occupancy building. Charles Fridman founded Shalimar Management Corp. at this time, where he continues to serve as President. Charles Fridman now rents over 300 units in seven buildings across Manhattan. Charles Fridman continues to be involved in property acquisitions, construction of new buildings, and management.
